- Findings: Aircraft launched from USS John F. Kennedy at 1447 hours and checked in with departure.
At 1451 aircraft checked in with E-2C after unable to contact SSC coordinator.
E-2 controllers talked to S-3 and found they were too far North for them to control and freelance SSC.
Mishap aircraft checked in with Force Track coordinator at 1456 and lost communications at 1501.
Aircraft was last seen at 1501 on a bearing of 290 degrees true at 21 NM at 300 feet MSL.
SAR efforts began when aircraft failed to report for recovery time of 1851.
Cannot confirm if crew lost situational awareness and flew into the water or had a mechanical failure.
No apparent ejection attempt was made.
Crew of 4 not recovered.
